Turn your Friday Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

by Bethany Day on October 7, 2013

Join in the fun and turn your Friday pink this October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and help thousands of people living with breast cancer.

“Pink Fridays is all about getting your mates together and raising money for a really important cause– Breast Cancer Care. So this October why don’t you support the 55,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.”

Brendon Cole, Breast Cancer Care Ambassador

1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Breast Cancer Care wants to be there for every one of them.

Through their specialist nurses and local service teams the charity supports patients and families, as they cope with the harsh reality of a breast cancer diagnosis, every day.

3 fun ways to turn your Friday pink and raise money for Breast Cancer Care:

Dress Pink

One of the easiest ways to raise money for Breast Cancer Care is to dress in pink. Just ask everyone to join in the fun and give a donation for taking part. You could even award a prize to the best dressed. And why stop at wearing pink? Why not go all out and get sponsored to dye your hair pink? Not that brave? A pink wig would look just as good!

Eat Pink

Everyone loves a slice of cake with their tea so why not get your pinny on and do some baking to turn your Friday pink? Provide some pink themed cakes for your office afternoon break or host a bake sale for your friends. In fact, why not get all your best bakers together and have a bake off?

Work Pink

Liven up the day at work with a fun pink Friday party. You could get your boss to wear a pink apron and be on tea making duty all day or why not have a competition to see who can ‘pink up’ their desk the best.

However you decide to turn your Friday pink, every penny raised will go towards helping those affected by breast cancer.
