Book your place at the new Interflora Flower School

by Charlotte.Barnes on September 26, 2011

To pass on some of our knowledge as the flower experts we have launched the Interflora Flower School.

Aimed at enthusiasts, the new facility in London’s West End will run a number of classes, all of which will be taught by Interflora florists.

The classes are hands-on and will encourage you to explore all avenues of creativity while receiving support from florists and others in the class.

For more information or to book a place, please visit the Interflora Flower School section of our website.

Meet the florists

Here’s a little about the Interflora florists who will be leading the classes at the Flower School.

Sarah Horne
As well as running her shop in Leamington Spa, Sarah spends a lot of time teaching and competing. She was listed by The Independent as one of the UK’s top 50 florists and has won numerous awards. These include the Royal Horticultural Society Florist of the Year.

David Ragg
David has 25 years’ experience in the industry and has represented the UK at both the Interflora World Cup and the Europa Cup. Last year he won gold at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for a stunning exhibit entitled ‘Progression’.

Karen Barnes
Karen has worked around the world designing and demonstrating and she has been awarded an RHS Chelsea Gold Medal. Karen ran her own floristry business for 19 years but is now the Head of Floral Gifting at Interflora.

Dennis van Wonderen
Originally from The Netherlands, Dennis moved to the UK to pursue a career in floristry. As well as being a demonstrator, Dennis runs his own successful business in Lower Sudbury. He is constantly striving to introduce the Dutch approach to floristry in the UK.

The classes

A class at the Interflora Flower School could be an exciting gift for you or a wonderful opportunity for any loved one. It’s a great chance to make friends, learn some top floristry techniques and have fun!

There are afternoon and evening sessions, both of which are held at a stunning Georgian townhouse in London’s West End. Why not combine an afternoon of floristry with a spot of shopping and then catch the latest show.

The first class will take place on November 23rd and there will be others throughout November and December. You’ll be taught how to create gorgeous festive pieces, including a Christmas centrepiece. You’ll leave the classes with a beautiful creation and invaluable floristry tips for the future.
