She is also the great grandmother to Savannah and Isla Elizabeth, daughters of Peter and his wife Autumn Kelly.

Sir Bob Geldof

Sir Bob recently became a grandfather for the first time when his daughter Peaches gave birth to her son Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof. Imagine being able to say that Indiana Jones is your granddad! Well, three children actually can as Harrison Ford is a proud grandparent to Eliel, Giuliana and Ethan. In an unusual twist Harrison’s grandchildren are actually all older than Harrison’s son Liam who he adopted with wife Calista Flockhart.

Lionel Richie

Singer Lionel claimed he was ‘more nervous’ than his adopted daughter Nicole when his granddaughter Harlow was born in 2008. Nicole and her husband, Good Charlotte frontman, Joe Madden have since added another child to the Richie clan, a son called Sparrow, and Lionel is affectionately known as ‘Popi’ or ‘Papa’.

Nanny Pat

She may not have the biggest role in The Only Way is Essex, but Nanny Pat is one of the best loved characters of the semi-reality TV show. Whoopi Goldberg

Funny lady Whoopi Goldberg became a mum in her teens and a grandmother at the young age of 34, when her 16-year-old daughter gave birth. While she relishes life as a grandparent, she’s most certainly not up for adding great-grandma to her title, saying: “Great-grandchildren I’m not doing!”

Rod Stewart

With eight children of his own, who better to play the doting grandfather role than Rod? His daughter Kimberley gave birth to daughter Delilah in 2011, and Rod was first to gush about the family’s new arrival, even revealing the baby’s name to the press, saying: “It’s Delilah.  I’ve been going around blabbing that for hours now!”

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne

Imagine what you’d get away with as a grandchild in the Ozzy household! First time grandparents Ozzy and Sharon were over the moon when their son Jack’s daughter, baby Pearl, was born. However before Pearl made her arrival, Sharon declared there wasn’t going to be any of the ‘grandma’ in her household, she said the baby would have to call her ‘Mrs O’ instead!

Katherine Jackson

When her son Michael died in 2009, Katherine Jackson was awarded custody of her late son’s three children; Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket. Despite numerous rows, headlines and sensational fall-outs, Katherine has been a constant in the three children’s lives, and after yet another family fight which resulted in her temporarily losing custody of her three grandchildren, she was reinstated as their full-time guardian, which a judge saying she had been doing a ‘terrific job as guardian and the children love her’.
