The Interflora Mercury Man Visits Bowness

Interflora Mercury ManTwo local experts have joined forces to become the leading destination for brides in the South Lakes.  Kevin O’Dwyer, the proprietor of florist shop Brackens of Bowness now hosts Beaulea’s Cake Studio within his premises so that Lea Rogers and her team of experts can showcase their cake artistry.

Last week Mercury Man travelled to Bowness to help officially launch the new cake studio at Brackens. The Mercury Man is the roman messenger god and has been Interflora’s world-famous emblem since 1914, encapsulating fast delivery and excellent service.

This will be a triple celebration for Brackens who have recently been recognised by Interflora for being one of the top florists in the country for offering customers excellent levels of service.  Brackens has also just become an Interflora Vera Wang accredited florist – one of only three in the whole of Cumbria. As an internationally renowned figure within the wedding industry, the Vera Wang brand is synonymous with singular design excellence and elegance.

Each of the accredited Interflora florists will have expert knowledge of the Vera Wang brand and be able to interpret the bride’s own thoughts, colour themes and ideas into the final designs – an unforgettable couture consultation unique to each bride. The Vera Wang Wedding Collection by Interflora will include statement designs for the bride, groom, wedding party, ceremony and reception – all unmistakably Vera Wang creations.

Kevin has been a florist since the age of 16 and took over Brackens in 2009.  His team of three provide creative, fresh and beautiful floral arrangements to customers throughout the South Lakes to both local people and visitors.  Kevin commented “We’re delighted to be able to join forces with another award-winning local business.  It is the perfect fit.

“They complement our business as both flowers and cakes are the best ways to celebrate special occasions such as wedding and birthdays.  Having them on hand also saves customers precious time, they can make one appointment to discuss their floral arrangements and cake design at the same time!

“It’s also absolutely fabulous that we’ve been selected by Interflora as one of the best in country and we thoroughly enjoyed having the Mercury Man with us for the day.”

Brackens are one of 10 florists from Interflora’s network of over 1800 around the country to have been recognised in this way for the quality of its customer service.
