Once again we’re planning to wow the crowds at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Award-winning florist David Denyer will be creating a stunning floral design exhibit entitled ‘A Sense of Perspective’.
After the success of last year’s exhibit – ‘Progression’ by fellow Interflora florist David Ragg – David is going to have a tough act to follow.
The exhibit will consist of a series of doorways flowing down a seven-metre space in the prestigious Great Pavilion.
David says: “I will be using nine doorways shaded from dark to light which can be viewed from either end of the stand. Each will radiate a different colour using a variety of flowers woven into the frame – from bright oranges to rich reds, deep plums and cool blues. The idea is to give onlookers a different perspective and colour from every angle.
David’s quiet confidence is probably down to the fact that he is already a seasoned competitor. He’s already earned five Chelsea Gold Medals and four Best in Show awards. Most recently he won gold for Interflora at the RHS Autumn Show 2010 and he’s also held the titles of Interflora Florist of the Year and Interflora World Champion.
And this is all because David loves competing. He said: “I got the bug for competition work when I was just 16 and have never looked back. You can let your mind run free and push your creative thoughts to the limit. It is a time for you to challenge all you have been taught and compete with your peers.”
Look out for ‘A Sense of Perspective’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show later this year. We’ll be bringing you all the updates from the show as well as exclusive pictures of the exhibit itself.
