Interflora launched their new bridal collection earlier this year featuring a fantastic range of stylish wedding bouquets. With designs and colour schemes to suit all budgets, themes and seasons I am delighted to be able to select one which I think would be perfect for a Christmas wedding.
If you’re getting married in December and are looking for Christmas wedding flowers, Interflora’s Scarlet Rose and Berry Bridal Bouquet is the one I would choose. A richly coloured hand-tied posy of large headed red roses, delicate spray roses, ranunculus, hypericum berries and eucalyptus foliage, it reflects beautifully the colours and textures of the season.
Not only are the choice of flowers spot on for Christmas, the language behind the flowers couldn’t be more appropriate – this bouquet is full of significance. The red roses of course stand for love and romance and the smaller buds of the red spray roses mean simply ‘pure and lovely’. Ranunculus, a very pretty early spring flower similar to a rosette in shape means ‘you are radiant with charms’.
This hand-tied bridal bouquet has been created by your expert wedding florist by arranging the flowers in a spiral to create a perfectly round, domed bouquet. Because the stems are left natural and un-cut, the bouquet can be kept in water right up until it is delivered, which means the bride receives it in top condition.
The rich Christmassy colours of this bouquet make it ideal for an ivory or off-white dress where it would show up against the fabric beautifully. If the dress has any red detail, this will also be picked up by the colours and the berries will mirror any pearls or beading on the bodice or skirt.
For the bridesmaids, I would recommend the same hand-tied design, but smaller in size. If they are in red dresses, then you would need to add ivory and cream flowers to make their bouquets stand out – keep the rich red to just a touch to coordinate with the brides bouquet. For the groom, a stylish boutonniere of a large red rose with berries and loops of grass would set off his suit beautifully.
If I was going to choose reception designs to coordinate with this gorgeous Christmas wedding bouquet then I would opt for either tall glass martini vases, overflowing with roses, berries and trailing green ivy, or, for something less opulent, pretty seasonal hand-tieds of red flowers with holly, spruce and mistletoe arranged in a glass globe, which would definitely set the Christmassy theme.
