We’ve got some very exciting things coming up at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which runs from the 24th to 28th May. After the gold-medal success of David Ragg’s ‘Progression’ design exhibit at last year’s show, we’re looking to do just as well this time round.
This time David Denyer, who helped put together Progression, is working on a very special piece called A Sense of Perspective. It’s a series of full-size doorways, each of which will be decorated with various flowers. The point of the piece is that when you view it from different angles you always get a new perspective, a flash of colour or view of new flowers. Read more >>

Well this is it, now the real countdown begins!
Months of planning for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2011 will all cumulate over the next week as A Sense of Perspective starts to take shape within the grounds of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea. I thought I would let you all in on how this will work and the tight schedule the team will be working to.
On Wednesday 18th May I’ll be heading down to the showground to oversee the building of the seven meter by three meter base that ‘A Sense of Perspective’ will stand on. Although erecting the base seems quite a straightforward job, there is actually quite a lot of science involved in getting it just right. We need to make sure that the base is laid entirely level so
that when each doorway is installed it will sit
straight and securely. Read more >>

In the run-up to this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show we thought we’d look back at our successes and achievements at last year’s event.

Wow, what a week it’s been! Not only have we been really busy in the shop over Easter but our plans for Chelsea have taken on a new pace…
On Wednesday I travelled to London to meet up with the contractors who are making the nine doorways for the exhibit. I really wanted to make the most of the meeting as it would be our last opportunity to get together before the build. And there was plenty to talk about. Every small detail needs to be taken into consideration – how will the doorways stand up to warm weather conditions, how will the floral foam sit inside of each doorway, what about watering the flowers and replenishment? There’s just so much that needs to be thought through… Read more >>

It’s just six weeks until the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and there’s still plenty of work to be done behind the scenes.
I’ve had a prototype doorway in my shop since February which David Ragg and I have been working on most days. David Ragg designed Interflora’s Gold Medal winning exhibit, ‘Progression’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show last year so it’s great to have him on hand this year to assist me with my design. After the success of last year’s exhibit – ‘Progression’ by fellow Interflora florist David Ragg – David is going to have a tough act to follow.
The exhibit will consist of a series of doorways flowing down a seven-metre space in the prestigious Great Pavilion. Read more >>
