The Oserian Farm in Kenya – one of our Fairtrade suppliers – is based on the shores of Lake Naivasha and provides us with some of the beautiful Fairtrade flowers you see on www.interflora.co.uk.
On 245 hectares of land, the farm produces around 400 million stems a year – mainly roses and carnations. There are around 6,000 workers employed at Oserian and the farm provides them with housing, healthcare and schools for their children….

A few months ago, around Mother’s Day, you may have seen the Interflora logo on black cabs across London. It was great to see the Interflora name back on the road, so now we’re starting to rebrand some of our florists’ vehicles.
We’ve started to wrap a number of vans with the Interflora colours of black and gold, starting with those in the London area.

Corsages have been popular throughout modern history. The name dates back to the 19th century, when a corsage was the bodice of a dress. A small bouquet of flowers was often worn in the centre of the bodice.
Our modern usage of the word comes from the French ‘bouquet de corsage’ meaning ‘bouquet of the bodice’.
Corsages have been around for much longer than their name. The ancient Greeks believed the scent of flowers would ward off evil spirits during wedding ceremonies.

There’s so much going on at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. We have been really looking forward to showing what we can do when it comes to floral design.
One of the highlights of the show for us is the Interflora design piece entitled ‘Progression’. This has been created in the Great Pavilion and is a bright, inspiring piece. Award-winning Interflora florist David Ragg came up with its concept and design and, along with David Denyer, they have been creating a piece that is uplifting and full of colour.

Each of the four new bouquets boasts a selection of unusual, scented roses. These are being launched at the Interflora stand on Pavilion Way (PW24) and are available to buy today from www.interflora.co.uk

Roses are one of the most popular flowers of all time so we thought we’d talk to the renowned rose breeder and winner of 14 Chelsea Flower Show gold medals, David Austin.
David Austin Roses UK – provides cut flowers to Interflora. The company’s first rose, the fragrant Constance Spry, was released in 1961. Since then it has released nearly 200 English Roses.
