More people would like to cut down on or give up chocolate than smoking this year, according to the Interflora New Year’s Resolution Survey.
While nine per cent of people in the survey said that quitting smoking was their New Year’s resolution, more people said they will be cutting out or cutting down on their chocolate intake, with 10 per cent resolving to do so in 2012. Read more >>

Interflora florist Neil Whittaker has won the British Florist Association’s prestigious Florist of the Year competition. The victory means he will go on to compete for Great Britain in the Europa Cup.
The Europa Cup will take place next September in the Czech Republic. Neil will take part in three days of intense competition with representatives from around 20 other countries. He represented Britain in 2007 in Slovenia, reaching a very well deserved fourth place – the highest ever reached by a British competitor. Read more >>

Our Halloween shop window competition is now closed. Thank you to all the florists who sent in their pictures – you can see them all below.
Each display shows off our florists’ skills and they’ve all created some brilliantly spooky windows. You can see pumpkins, black cats, broomsticks and all manner of Halloween themes.
Because of the amazing response we decided to extend the prizes on offer. The winner will now get an Ultimate Indulgence Hamper worth £100 and the five runners up will get one Gourmet Delights Hamper, worth £35, each.
Winners will be announced on Friday October 29th.

The winning design celebrates autumn using a combination of dahlias and autumn foliage.
Interflora florist David Denyer, who will be leading Interflora’s design installation at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2011, put the design together. David has previously won five gold medals at Chelsea, including four-times best in show; he also won the Interflora World Cup in 2004.

The Oserian Farm in Kenya – one of our Fairtrade suppliers – is based on the shores of Lake Naivasha and provides us with some of the beautiful Fairtrade flowers you see on www.interflora.co.uk.
On 245 hectares of land, the farm produces around 400 million stems a year – mainly roses and carnations. There are around 6,000 workers employed at Oserian and the farm provides them with housing, healthcare and schools for their children….
