Announcing our Chelsea Florist of the Year

by Charlotte.Barnes on May 26, 2010

Chelsea Florist of the YearThis year seven Interflora florists have been taking part in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Florist of the Year competition, in association with the British Florist Association.

Each competitor had to design a floral parasol from scratch….

Congratulations to Clare Allen from Skipps Florist in Biggleswade, who won the gold medal for her parasol! Take a look at the video below to see her design.

Four other Interflora florists won medals, including Catherine Date from Trugs in Exeter and Tracey Griffin from Sandra’s in Southampton, both of them won silver-gilt. Neil Whittaker of the Design Element in Irlam and Sarah Horne from Sarah Horne Flowers in Leamington Spa both picked up a bronze medal.

Take a look at the video below as Neil Whittaker explains what it is like to compete in such a prestigious competition.

So much skill and attention to detail has gone into parasol, it’s well worth taking a look at the pictures below to see just how creative our florists can get.
